If the infant or child ONLY HAS DELAYED SYMPTOMS and

NO immediate symptoms

NO failure to thrive

NO multiple food exclusions (if child has started to wean)

Infant is NOT exclusively breast fed



1.  Infant should avoid cow’s milk, other dairy products, and sheep’s and goat’s milk for 3 – 4 weeks

2. Prescribe extensively hydrolysed formula (Aptimil pepti, SMA Althera, Similac Ailmentum)

3. Prescribe Piriton

3. Provide Cow’s Milk Allergy Information Leaflet

4. Arrange telephone consultation in 2 weeks to assess response
