If the infant or child has any of the following

history of anaphylaxis (breathing problems or faintness) to cow’s milk or dairy

failure to thrive

multiple food exclusions (if child has started to wean)

infant who is exclusively breast fed

1.  Infant should avoid cow’s milk, other dairy products, and sheep’s & goat’s milk

2. Prescribe amino acid formula (Alfamino, Neocate LCP or Nutramagen AA)

3. Prescribe Piriton

3. Provide Cow’s Milk Allergy Information Leaflet

4. Refer to paediatrician with an interest in allergy and a dietitian

5. Mother should not reintroduce Cow’s milk formula or other dairy products until advised by paediatrician
