PREVENTING MY CHILD BEING BULLIED

Unfortunately, children are sometimes bullied because of their food allergies. This may be because others do not understand about allergies. A good plan is to encourage your child’s nursery or school to educate other children on allergies.

EDUCATE–The “It’s Not a Joke” campaign has been developed to help children learn more about allergies and how to

prevent food allergy bullying.

REASSURE – It’s important to explain to your child that it is not their fault that they have an allergy.

COMMUNICATE – Understanding how your child and other children feels about food allergies is important. This will help you to identify how best to support and help your child.
