Most children’s hay fever can be controlled with standard medication (oral antihistamine, steroid nasal spray and non-steroid anti-inflammatory eye drops).
If the child's hay fever is severely impacting on their quality of life and is caused by a pet cat or dog, then a new home should be found for the animal.
If the child is allergic to dust or pollen and still symptomatic when taking standard medication REGULARLY then immunotherapy may be considered.
